Huzzah! and there is internet!

Ah, Berkeley. Good times, good times. Renting an appartment sight unseen can be a bit of a daunting prospect, but it has turned out all right. Our livingroom is ginormous and our kitchen is separated from the livingroom by a bar, which is already covered with booze, matching Mask and Quill shotglasses, Wellesley champaign flutes and hot Jessica Rabbit dolls (well, just one of those). Johnny Depp is also hanging from the bar by his pirate dreads.

Also, we have furnature, which is super exciting. Putting it together, also exciting. I had never been to IKEA before, but kittimeow insisted. That place is quite the experience. We have also come into the posession of two floofy blue couches, which is a very very good thing as neither of us yet owns a bed. But, Jesus H. Christ, furnature is expensive! And, I suppose that when you have it, you never really realize how very much of it you have. But when you don't, it's cardboard boxes, piles of books, mountains of clothes, and disaster everywhere!

Yesterday we went to the local Ren Faire with Anthony and Chris, who for once came out to play, but really only because the faire is right by his house. That was cool. There was mead and a Punch and Judy show and belly dancers and fencing. tarbender, who works for the fencers, gave us a lesson, during which I must admit thinking "This is cheating! It's too easy to teach this when they understand what you're saying!" All in all, a good day, and I was pleased to introduce kittimeow to the folklore kids. daniemeg, you're next. We probably should have stuck around for the after-closing drunkenness and debauchery, but we were all wicked tired. I was totally in bed by ten o'clock.
